Director of Business Development – London, UK
We’re seeking a senior commercial leader to drive UK expansion through strategic partnerships and enterprise growth. This is not a passive relationship management role; it’s about winning new (enterprise) clients, closing complex deals, and scaling payment volumes above £2M+ annually per client. You’ll be instrumental in shaping market entry and building lasting commercial success.

What you will do
- Develop and execute the UK business development strategy focused on enterprise clients and high-value platforms.
- Build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of enterprise prospects with annual payment volumes exceeding £2M+.
- Lead the full sales cycle – from prospecting and solution scoping to commercial negotiation and go-live.
- Pitch the company’s API-first payment platform to C-level executives across financial institutions, marketplaces, and large enterprises.
- Structure, negotiate, and close complex commercial and legal agreements that drive tangible revenue growth.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Compliance, Marketing, and Legal to ensure seamless delivery and onboarding.
- Feed UK market intelligence and insights into the global product and GTM strategy.
What you bring
- 8+ years in business development, enterprise sales, or partnerships within fintech, payments, or financial infrastructure.
- Proven track record in acquiring and closing enterprise clients with significant annual transaction volumes (£2M+ and above).
- Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem (FX, acquiring, issuing, settlement, APIs).
- A hunter mindset — driven to open doors, craft solutions, and close deals.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to navigate complex enterprise sales cycles.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills at C-level.
- Experience in regulated industries.
- No background in adult, gambling, or crypto portfolios.
