Planning & Controls Manager – World's Largest Solar Power Project

Global Engineering Talent has been appointed as the exclusive search partner to support delivery of the world's largest single-site solar power project, based in India. We are now seeking an experienced Planning & Controls Manager to lead programme planning, scheduling, and cost controls on this landmark, multi-billion-dollar EPC programme. This role sits at the core of delivery assurance, providing leadership, governance, and insight across one of the most complex renewable energy projects ever executed.
The Role
As Planning & Controls Manager, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and controlling the integrated project controls framework, ensuring schedule integrity, accurate progress measurement, and transparent reporting at senior and investor level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development, ownership, and maintenance of Level 6 / Level 7 integrated EPC schedules
- Establishing and managing project planning standards, controls procedures, and reporting frameworks
- Programme scheduling using Primavera P6/P7 and MS Project
- Definition and implementation of progress measurement criteria and earned value methodologies
- Monitoring and reporting of value of work done (EV), capex spend, cost performance, and schedule variance
- Identification of critical path risks and implementation of mitigation and recovery strategies
- Integration of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules
- Providing accurate, data-driven reporting to the Project Director and senior stakeholders
- Supporting change management, forecasting, and scenario analysis
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a senior planning professional with deep EPC experience and the ability to operate confidently at mega-project scale.
Essential requirements:
- 20+ years' experience executing large-scale EPC or EPCM projects
- Expert user of Primavera P6/P7 and MS Project
- Proven experience preparing and managing L6 / L7 schedules
- Strong background in project controls, earned value management, and capex reporting
- Ability to operate across multi-contractor, multi-discipline project environments
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in energy, infrastructure, or large industrial projects is highly desirable

Base location: Mumbai
Contract duration: 2 years (with potential extension)
