We are currently supporting a well-established building services consultancy delivering technically complex laboratory and commercial office fit-out projects in London. Due to an immediate project requirement, they are looking to appoint a (Contract) Senior Mechanical Engineer who can hit the ground running and support live schemes through detailed design and delivery.
The Role
You will be working on fast-paced lab and office fit-out projects, taking ownership of mechanical design packages and supporting coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role is split across:
- London – 3 days per week (client offices / project teams)
- Peterborough – 2 days per week (design team collaboration)
This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable working autonomously, managing design outputs, and contributing immediately to live projects.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer within building services
- Essential: Previous experience delivering laboratory and/or office fit-out projects
- Strong background in mechanical design (HVAC, plant, distribution systems)
- Comfortable working in client environments and project offices
Initial term: 3 months
Extension: Opportunity to extend to a 12-month contract based on performance
Location split: Peterborough (2 days) / London (3 days)
