Are you ready to lead and grow a high-performing team delivering major projects across the built environment sector? We're seeking a strategic, technically astute Head of Project Delivery to manage one of our most vital business units. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on leadership, commercial management, and project delivery excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Director and based in our London office, you'll take full ownership of the business unit – overseeing all technical, commercial, and contractual elements while shaping growth and team success. This is a hands-on leadership role where your decisions and strategy will directly influence project outcomes and business performance.
Note: This role will involve international travel. Candidates must be willing and able to travel overseas as required for project, client, and stakeholder engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants and project professionals
- Oversee HR matters, performance appraisals, and team wellbeing
- Attend monthly leadership meetings and support board-level decisions
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Commercial & Operational Oversight
- Ensure profitability, forecasting, and resource planning across your unit
- Manage all contractual obligations, commercial risks, and client payments
- Represent the business in high-level client meetings and industry forums
- Contribute to broader business strategy, marketing, and bid efforts
- Project Delivery Excellence
- Drive timely and high-quality delivery of multi-disciplinary projects
- Ensure compliance with all design standards and internal processes
- Engage in direct project management, design leadership, and contract negotiation
- Lead RFP reviews, cost planning, and value engineering exercises
- Client Relationship Management
- Strengthen client trust and engagement through consistent delivery
- Win repeat work by understanding client needs and exceeding expectations
- Actively contribute to new business generation and thought leadership
What We’re Looking For
- 10–15 years’ experience in project/commercial management
- Chartered status (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, MICE, CIBSE, APM)
- First-class or 2:1 degree in a relevant discipline
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, and JCT contracts
- Demonstrated success leading teams on high-value construction or infrastructure projects
- Clear communicator with confident leadership and client-facing ability
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as part of the role
