We Are Recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year holding a valid HGV Class 1 licence
- Maximum 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Must hold all 3 UK driver cards (Licence, CPC, Digi Tachograph)
Role Overview:
- Nights Class 1 (Lone Working):
- Deliver roll cages and pipe products into retail stores
- Use keys, alarm profiles, and be responsible for unsetting/resetting alarms
- Typically 35 drops per shift
- Use tail lift/side gate and kick plates for deliveries
- Collection of all empties before leaving each store
- Lone working responsibilities apply
- Primarily trunking work, including double-deck trailer runs
- Additional trunk routes as required
- May also involve Class 2 store deliveries (25 drops) when stores are open
- Occasional flexibility required to operate a 26t vehicle for cage and pipe deliveries
Start Times:
- Nights: Start between 16:00 and 21:00 (flexibility required). All store deliveries must be completed by 07:00. Shifts are not expected to exceed 12.5 hours. Mix of short and long routes.
- Days: Start times for C&E: 06:00 to 12:00. Includes double-decker trunk operations and double runs to secondary hub locations. Potential store deliveries in 26t vehicles.
Induction & Assessment:
- Duration: Up to 8 hours
- Includes Drug & Alcohol test and Driving Assessment
- Paperwork includes: SSoW, TBT, PSMs
- Mandatory site induction
- Drivers must arrive well rested and aware of the induction length
- Organisation follows strict Health & Safety and Compliance policies
- Following successful induction/assessment, drivers will receive 23 days buddy training (nights)
- Manual handling assessment paperwork must be submitted prior to induction
