Reports to: Consumer Lending Credit Analyst Officer
Primary Functions: Underwrite consumer loan requests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate credit applications and make credit decisions consistent with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and all other existing authority, including credit union policies and guidelines.
- Rapidly underwrite and respond to credit requests sent to the Consumer Lending department by members, credit union branches, and network dealers.
- Validate automated lending decisions and complete administrative follow-up to ensure compliance, fair lending, and member identification protocols are being followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not Applicable
Experience/Skills:
- One-year experience with this credit union in a problem‑solving capacity, or underwriting consumer loans, which routinely calls for independent decision making in a high volume, fast‑paced environment.
- Must have knowledge of all consumer lending regulations.
- Must have ability to adapt to a variety of situations, processing a high volume of work with attention to detail.
- Must have ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically.
Tenure: Consumer Lending Credit Analyst Trainee (Category 13), Consumer Lending Credit Analyst I (Category 12), Consumer Lending Credit Analyst II (Category 11), Consumer Lending Credit Analyst III (Category 10), and Senior Consumer Lending Credit Analyst (Category 09) requires meeting proven acceptable performance standards as established by management. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
Compensation
Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and applicable local or state wage requirements, and will fall within the range provided below. In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new‑hire base salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.
Salary Pay Range:
- 09 $69,557 - $112,677 annually
- 10 $63,233 - $99,908 annually
- 11 $57,484 - $90,230 annually
- 12 $53,226 - $81,405 annually
- 13 $49,284 - $73,391 annually
