About the Role
This role will support Global Counsel’s growing Health and Life Sciences team, which provides strategic policy and commercial consultancy to clients across the pharmaceutical industry, health technology providers, and the wider health, social care and life sciences sectors. The successful candidate will advise clients on health and life sciences policy and regulatory developments, helping them navigate political risks, identify opportunities, and shape strategic engagement approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver research, analysis and advice on a wide range of health and life sciences policy, political and regulatory issues.
- Manage day-to-day client relationships and lead project delivery across both retained and project-based work.
- Produce high-quality written content, including policy papers, blog posts, reports and marketing material.
- Support business development activity by identifying new opportunities and contributing to client growth strategies.
- Collaborate across Global Counsel’s wider teams and contribute to thought leadership in the sector.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years’ experience in healthcare policy, gained from roles in the civil service, public sector, NHS organisations, industry, politics, think tanks or public affairs consultancies.
- Strong understanding of UK healthcare policy-making. Knowledge of life sciences or health technology policy is desirable.
- Exceptional writing, research and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent project management and client handling experience.
- Confident presenter, comfortable communicating in person and via digital platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams.
- Commercially minded with an interest in how policy and regulation affect business strategy.
- A proactive and self-motivated individual with a passion for health and life sciences policy.
