Global Corporate Logistics (GCL) is a Manchester-based freight and parcel shipping company. We handle UK domestic parcel services (Royal Mail, Evri, DPD, DX), air freight to Nigeria and West Africa, sea freight, and customs clearance. We are a small, fast-moving team and this role is central to our daily operations.
Role summary
You will be responsible for daily collections from our warehouse and customer locations across the Manchester area. This is a hands-on, physical role requiring punctuality, reliability, and a professional attitude when representing GCL at customer premises.
Key responsibilities
- Daily parcel and pallet collections from GCL warehouse and customer locations
- Delivering outbound freight to courier depots, freight terminals, and consolidation hubs
- Loading and unloading parcels and pallets safely — manual handling involved
- Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining a clean, roadworthy vehicle
- Communicating with the operations team on collection schedules and any issues
- Occasionally supporting the warehouse team with labelling and parcel sorting
Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Van driving experience — minimum 1 year
- Physically fit — able to lift parcels up to 30kg
- Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
- Good knowledge of Manchester and surrounding areas
- Able to work independently and use GPS/route apps confidently
- Right to work in the UK
