This isn’t just another engineering job. You’ll act as the technical authority for protection systems, owning validation strategy and providing expert oversight from design through to energisation. Expect a mix of high-level technical leadership and hands-on site involvement on complex, mission-critical projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead protection validation strategy across multiple projects
  • Review & challenge protection designs, relay settings, and coordination studies
  • Oversee FAT/SAT and commissioning activities
  • Support site teams during testing, energisation, and fault resolution
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders
  • Identify risks and ensure systems operate safely and reliably

What You Bring:

  • Strong experience in HV/EHV protection & control systems
  • Proven background in validation, design review, and technical assurance
  • Expertise in overcurrent, distance & differential protection
  • Experience with relay configuration, testing & commissioning
  • Familiarity with ETAP, DIgSILENT or similar tools
  • Ability to read and challenge complex electrical designs

Qualifications:

  • Chartership (or working towards) – a plus
