Specialising in the data centre industry, we offer commissioning management and validation services to project developers and operators, ensuring they receive a fully operational and design-compliant building at handover. We are a growing company and currently operate in multiple countries across Europe and we have active offices in Germany, Poland, Finland, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
The Role: As the Commissioning Manager, you will be pivotal in overseeing the safe, timely, and efficient design, installation, and commissioning of critical systems and IT infrastructure within data centre environments. This challenging position requires excellent leadership and organisational skills to manage services on and off-site, providing direction to Project Managers, Supervisors, and various sub-contractors as needed.
Primary Responsibilities: As the Commissioning Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Design Phase
- Authoring and reviewing the Owner's Project Requirements, Basis of Design, and commissioning documents.
- Drafting the Commissioning Plan and Programme, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Leading the Commissioning Agent Kick-Off Meeting, facilitating collaboration and understanding among stakeholders.
- Compiling a comprehensive project directory, ensuring all relevant information is documented and easily accessible.
- Construction Phase
- Leading Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 Commissioning Workshops, fostering teamwork and efficient execution of commissioning tasks.
- Attending Factory and Field Witness Tests, overseeing the process, and producing related reports to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Developing Commissioning Checklists for electrical, mechanical, monitoring, and safety systems, guaranteeing thorough and systematic assessments.
- Drafting Level 4 Test Scripts and Site Observation Reports, documenting observations accurately and providing clear action plans.
- Conducting weekly commissioning and client meetings, maintaining effective communication channels throughout construction.
- Managing and updating the Commissioning Tracker, ensuring all commissioning activities are tracked and progress is well-monitored.
- Acceptance Phase
- Overseeing Level 4 Commissioning across various systems, coordinating with project teams to resolve any issues promptly.
- Collating and presenting Level 4 Commissioning data and preparing comprehensive reports for project stakeholders.
- Drafting Level 5 Test Scripts and leading the Pre-Integrated Systems Testing Meeting, ensuring a smooth transition to the final commissioning phase.
- Coordinating Level 5 Commissioning and producing the preliminary report, highlighting successes, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Handover Phase
- Coordinating system training data collection, ensuring end-users receive the necessary training for efficient system operation.
- Reviewing Operations & Maintenance procedures, validating their completeness and accuracy.
- Leading the 'Lessons Learnt Workshop,' facilitating a constructive discussion to identify valuable insights for future projects.
- Delivering the Final Commissioning Report, summarising the commissioning process and outcomes to support the successful handover of the project.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Prince 2 or equivalent – Desirable
- Completion of trade apprenticeship or qualifications – Essential
- CSCS / Safe Pass / ECS / SMSTS holder – Essential
- HNC – Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services - Desirable
- BEng (Hons) in an engineering discipline or equivalent – Desirable
