As our Regional Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering commissioning and technical operations across multiple projects within their assigned region.

You will ensure that all technical, operational, and delivery activities are executed safely, efficiently, consistently, and in line with company standards, contractual requirements, and client expectations.

You will provide technical authority, operational leadership, and oversight of site-based teams, acting as the primary link between regional project delivery and senior management.

  • Provide technical leadership, direction, and oversight to all site-based commissioning and operations teams within the region.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for commissioning activities on assigned projects.
  • Set and enforce technical standards, methodologies, and best practices across all sites.
  • Lead by example through active participation in technical discussions, troubleshooting, and decision-making.
  • Support site teams in resolving complex commissioning, integration, and performance issues.
  • Project and Operational Management
  • Work closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain regional delivery plans, schedules, and resource forecasts.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual, technical, and commercial requirements.
  • Oversee progress, risks, and constraints, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure consistency of execution and reporting across all projects in the region.
  • Technical Governance and Quality
  • Ensure that all commissioning activities comply with company procedures, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Review, approve, and contribute to technical documentation, including test procedures, commissioning plans, reports, and handover documentation.
  • Ensure technical risks are identified, managed, and mitigated.
  • Support audits, quality reviews, and lessons‑learned activities across the region.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a senior technical and operational point of contact for clients within the region.
  • Understand client technical requirements and ensure they are incorporated into project delivery.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely communication on progress, risks, and technical matters.
  • Manage client expectations and contribute to maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Support the resolution of client issues and escalation of major concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement and Industry Awareness
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and commissioning best practices.
  • Drive improvements in tools, processes, and methodologies across the region.
  • Support the development and refinement of company technical and operational standards
  • Health, Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure that all operations are carried out in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all sites.
  • Ensure that risks are assessed and controlled before and during all site activities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or related engineering discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Engineering or Project / Operations Management is desirable.
  • Formal training or certification in data centre or mission-critical commissioning, project management, and health & safety is desirable.

Skills and Experience (Data Centre Commissioning)

  • Strong technical knowledge of mission-critical data centre systems, including electrical power, mechanical cooling, controls, and integrated systems.
  • Proven experience leading data centre commissioning activities, including Level 1–5 commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
  • Sound understanding of redundancy, resilience, and maintainability concepts (N, N+1, 2N).
  • Ability to review, approve, and author commissioning plans, test procedures, and handover documentation.
  • Experience managing commissioning activities in live or operational data centre environments.
  • Knowledge of relevant data centre standards and frameworks (e. g. Tier concepts, EN 50600, TIA-942).
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple sites.
  • Effective communication skills with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Structured approach to risk management, technical problem-solving, and decision making.
