We are looking for a kind, reliable and experienced Night Care Assistant to join our team in a residential care home supporting mainly residents living with dementia.
About the role
As a Night Care Assistant, you will support residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety, comfort, dignity and wellbeing.
- Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care.
- Carrying out regular welfare and safety checks throughout the night.
- Supporting residents who wake during the night or experience distress, confusion or anxiety.
- Providing calm reassurance and emotional support to residents living with dementia.
- Supporting residents with repositioning, mobility and transfers.
- Assisting residents with drinks, snacks and hydration where required.
- Responding promptly to call bells and residents’ individual needs.
- Following residents’ care plans, risk assessments and night-time routines.
- Observing residents’ health and wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to the senior member of staff.
- Completing accurate and timely care records using PCS (Person Centred Software).
- Maintaining a safe, calm and comfortable environment throughout the night.
- Supporting morning routines and assisting residents to prepare for the day.
- Working closely with senior carers and other members of the care team.
- Maintaining residents’ privacy, dignity, confidentiality and personal choices at all times.
