Residential Care Home in Hull is currently recruiting an experienced and committed Senior Care Assistant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a senior care professional to help our team deliver high standards of care to elderly residents.
Hours: Average 35 hours per week on a weekly rota. Alternate weekend working required. Shift patterns: 7:00 – 19:00 and 7:00 – 14:00. Flexibility is desirable due to possible sicknesses or holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading shifts and supervising care staff.
- Motivate and provide guidance to the care assistants so they can provide the best care possible.
- Support the day‑to‑day running of the home alongside management.
- Administer medication as prescribed in line with training and policies, monitor stock of medications and order them when stock is running low.
- Ensuring high standards of person‑centred care at all times.
- Acting as a senior point of contact for staff, residents, and families.
- Maintaining accurate care documentation and contributing to care planning.
- Support residents with all aspects of personal care whilst maintaining and promoting independence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader.
- Medication Administration trained.
- Experience within elderly residential care.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- A compassionate and professional approach to care.
