The Role: The Minibus Driver is responsible for operating the organisation\’s minibus to transport passengers safely and efficiently. This role is crucial for providing reliable transportation services to staff, students, and other authorised individuals. The Minibus Driver must ensure timely and safe transportation, adhere to all regulations, and maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and passenger service. The role requires flexibility to work shifts within campus operating times and to respond to any changes in transportation needs.

What the role involves:

  • Safely operate the minibus, following all traffic regulations and maintaining high standards of passenger safety.
  • Transport passengers to designated locations, adheringt to predetermined routes and schedules.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant data.
  • Ensure the minibus is clean and well-maintained, both internally and externally.
  • Attend required training sessions to enhance driving skills and knowledge.

About You:

  • Full and valid UK D1 driving licence without “101” or “79 NFHR” code in column 12 of the license.
  • Valid Driver’s Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC card).
  • Proven experience as a minibus driver or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations and no more than 6 active penalty points.
  • Strong knowledge of local traffic regulations and routes.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interact with passengers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and a friendly demeanour.
  • Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including assisting passengers with disabilities and handling luggage.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • High level of responsibility and commitment to passenger safety.
  • Availability to work any shift within campus operating times: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm; Saturday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
