Global Ardour Recycling is looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead our Birkenhead operation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business and take responsibility for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of a busy ferrous and non-ferrous metals recycling site.
About the role
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring operational performance, high safety standards, environmental compliance and excellent customer service. You will lead and develop the site team while driving productivity, maintaining compliance and delivering operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience managing a scrap metal recycling or metals processing operation.
- Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metal grades and processing operations (shearing, baling etc).
- Experience supervising the safe operation of mobile plant, including excavators, loading shovels and forklift trucks (FLT).
- A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation, with a proven commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing operational teams.
- The ability to manage site performance, drive continuous improvement and deliver operational KPIs.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Mobile plant competency or operator qualifications would also be advantageous.
