We are delighted to be supporting a highly reputable and well-established international business in their search for a Tax Manager to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional to take ownership of both UK and international tax operations within a dynamic and commercially driven environment.
The Role
As Tax Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing tax compliance, reporting, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and external advisors, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement across all tax processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead tax reporting and compliance across UK and international entities
- Manage the tax reporting calendar and ensure all submissions are accurate and timely
- Oversee VAT, GST, and sales tax reporting
- Maintain and review the tax risk register, identifying and mitigating key risks
- Provide internal guidance on direct and indirect tax matters
- Support corporate tax compliance, including capital allowances and R&D claims
- Partner with external advisors on complex or high-risk tax issues
- Drive process improvements and support tax-related projects
About You
- 5–7 years’ experience in a tax-focused role
- Strong VAT and indirect tax knowledge
- Confident managing risk and applying technical judgement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large datasets
- Experience working with HMRC and external advisors
- Professionally qualified (CTA, ACCA, CIMA, ATT, AAT or similar)
- International tax exposure
- Retail or consumer-facing industry experience
- ERP system experience (e.g. MS Dynamics)
- Knowledge of tax software such as Avalara or Vertex
