About the Role
The role of Management Accountant presents an exciting opportunity for a driven finance professional to contribute to the company's strategic goals. This position involves working closely with the Finance Director and other departments to ensure accurate financial analysis, reporting, and budget management. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and analysing financial reports, providing insightful commentary and identifying trends.
- Reconcile key control accounts and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecast financial performance, and prepare regular cashflow forecasts.
- Provide financial advice to support strategic decision-making, including investments and new projects.
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
- Monitor costs and spending, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure spending aligns with budgets and provide guidance to non-financial managers.
- Review and maintain financial policies and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support the Finance Director with the statutory audit process.
Required Skills and Experience
- Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or fully qualified AAT will be considered.
- Strong understanding of business operations and resource management.
- Previous experience in the transport or logistics industries is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly Excel and Sage.
