The Event Accountant role is a unique and exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to work closely with sports events. The position offers the chance to be the key finance contact for these events, providing valuable financial insights and support to the Event Directors and Operations teams. Skills/experience required:
- Qualified ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent.
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage and reconcile large data sets effectively.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Main responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary finance contact for the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic and Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open.
- Collaborate closely with Event Directors and Operations teams to support event finances.
- Provide clear and concise financial information to aid decision-making processes.
- Ensure all revenue planning and operational budgets are accurate and reconciled.
- Represent finance onsite at events.
- Manage detailed business planning, cash flow forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Flag risks and opportunities as necessary.
- Support and submit insurance claims in a timely manner, where applicable.
- Ensure month-end P&L and balance sheets reflect the current financial outlook.
- Provide variance commentary and accurate weekly cash flow and sales reports.
- Issue quarterly commission statements to the Sales Team.
