We are recruiting for a highly experienced Partnership Tax Manager to join a leading professional services organisation in Leeds. This is a senior, highly visible role working closely with equity partners and senior leadership, responsible for the delivery and oversight of partner individual tax and employment tax matters. The role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a complex, fast-paced partnership environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner & Individual Tax
    • Lead UK compliance for equity partners, including internationally mobile and non-UK resident individuals
    • Provide advice on profit allocations, overseas income, treaty claims, and residency and split-year issues
    • Support partners with remote working arrangements and UK tax residency considerations, including Statutory Residence Test analysis
    • Manage onboarding and exit tax matters for partners
  • Tax Payments, Reserving & Cashflow
    • Own and manage partner tax reserving processes with accuracy and transparency
    • Oversee partner tax payments including instalments and year-end settlements
    • Contribute to cashflow forecasting and planning for partner tax liabilities
  • Employment Tax
    • Provide senior oversight of employment tax matters including PSAs, benefits-in-kind, and expense governance
    • Work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external advisers to ensure compliance and consistency
  • HMRC Enquiries & Risk
    • Lead HMRC enquiries across partner and employment tax matters
    • Manage technical correspondence and negotiations with HMRC
    • Identify, assess, and escalate tax and reputational risk issues
  • Senior Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a trusted adviser to partners and senior stakeholders
    • Communicate complex tax matters clearly, focusing on impact, risk, and cashflow
    • Confidently challenge and influence senior stakeholders where appropriate
    • Lead and develop a small specialist team
    • Collaborate across Tax, HR, Payroll, Finance, and external advisers
    • Provide senior escalation support on partner tax matters
  • Operational Excellence
    • Drive improvements in processes, controls, and reporting
    • Lead automation and technology adoption to improve efficiency and accuracy

Candidate Profile

  • CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Strong UK individual tax background within professional services or partnership structures
  • Experience advising on UK residency and remote working tax implications (including SRT)
  • Knowledge of employment tax, including PSAs
  • Experience leading teams and driving improvements
  • Law firm or professional services partnership experience
  • Direct exposure to equity partners or senior governance stakeholders
  • Experience with internationally mobile partners
  • Global mobility tax experience
  • Experience with tax technology or automation tools
