Job Description
Global Accounting Network are partnering exclusively with an exciting PE backed Media client who are looking for an interim Group Management Accountant to join them on an initial 3-6 month contract. This newly created role plays a central part in the financial management of group entities.
As the Group management Accountant, this role reporting into the Group Financial Controller and will work across both Group Finance and FP&A functions, supporting critical reporting, analysis, and compliance activities while building strong business partnering relationships across departments.
Main Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements for Group entities.
- Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, with detailed commentary for senior stakeholders.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Support timely and accurate month-end close processes.
- Take ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Provide accurate financial information to aid in planning and decision-making.
Cost Control & Business Partnering
- Work closely with cost centre owners to analyse spend and ensure alignment with budgets.
- Provide regular reporting and insights into departmental expenditure.
Financial Compliance & Controls
- Ensure all financial transactions adhere to internal policies, controls, and accounting standards.
Transfer Pricing & Management Fees
- Calculate and invoice management fees in line with group transfer pricing policies.
Tax Support
- Assist with corporation tax compliance, VAT returns, and reporting of benefits-in-kind.
- Reconcile related control and intercompany accounts as part of tax and VAT processes.
Ad-hoc & Project Work
- Support finance onboarding of newly acquired entities.
- Maintain records of exceptional items in accordance with group accounting policies.
Ideal Candidate:
- Fully Qualified or finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- MUST have prior month end & management account prep experience
- Media or advertising background would be beneficial
- Advanced skills in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel are essential.
