About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Treasury Manager to join a rapidly growing organisation within the renewable energy sector. This newly created position will play a pivotal role in advancing the company's treasury processes. The Group Treasury Manager will oversee treasury operations across multiple countries, currencies, and banking relationships, ensuring the efficient management of liquidity, foreign exchange risks, and project finance loans. This role offers the chance to shape and implement a robust treasury function, making a significant impact on the organisation's financial strategy and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and standardise group-wide payment processes, ensuring consistency across all countries.
- Automate weekly payment runs and strengthen global controls around payments.
- Enhance liquidity and cash management by improving group-wide cash visibility and optimising cash utilisation.
- Develop and implement a foreign exchange risk management strategy to mitigate exposures and secure competitive rates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and group banks, managing credit lines and fees effectively.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with project finance loans, including covenants and financial reporting requirements.
- Design and execute an interest rate management strategy, including hedge documentation and effectiveness monitoring.
- Set up intra-group lending structures and agreements, aligning with transfer pricing policies.
- Identify and implement treasury management systems to automate information flow and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and procurement controls, including credit checks for construction providers.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in setting up treasury functions from scratch, with broad responsibility over the treasury function.
- Strong understanding of multi-company, multi-currency group environments with multiple banking relationships.
- Experience in managing project finance loans and developing hedging strategies for foreign exchange and interest rate risks.
- Familiarity with transfer pricing policies and inter-company funding agreements.
- Pro-active, self-starter with a hands-on approach and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Relevant treasury (ACT, CTP) or accounting qualifications (ACCA, ACA) are desirable but not essential.
- Experience in the renewable energy development industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
