About the Role: The company is seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Group Management Accountant to join its dynamic team in London. This role is pivotal in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting across the organisation. The Group Management Accountant will act as a key finance partner to budget holders, ensuring compliance with statutory and covenant requirements while supporting senior managers with high‑quality management information. This position offers the chance to take ownership of financial processes, strengthen controls, and contribute to impactful business decisions in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the month‑end process for Group holding entities, ensuring timely and accurate postings.
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments as part of monthly and annual close processes.
- Support the preparation and review of the monthly group management pack, providing accurate financial commentary on results.
- Prepare robust monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned entities.
- Assist with the preparation of consolidated management reports and financial models, including those used for covenant compliance.
- Prepare and review consolidation journals, eliminations, and adjustments to ensure consistency across Group entities.
- Prepare statutory financial statements for assigned Group entities in line with applicable accounting standards.
- Own specific audit areas end‑to‑end, resolving audit queries in a timely manner.
- Review, process, and reconcile intercompany loan postings and balances.
- Maintain and update external interest schedules, ensuring accurate calculations and postings.
- Own Group cashflow forecasting, analysing cash movements, and preparing treasury‑related reporting.
- Perform detailed monthly budget vs actual variance analysis, identifying key drivers of performance.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) or finalist with relevant experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/FRS).
- Proficiency in Excel with confidence working on large data sets.
- Experience preparing management accounts for multiple entities.
- Proven ability in preparing consolidated accounts and intercompany reconciliations.
- Understanding of management accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
- Substantial hands‑on experience in a management accounting role with end‑to‑end responsibility for month‑end processes.
- Experience delivering financial insight to non‑finance stakeholders to support decision‑making.
- Experience maintaining cashflow forecasts and contributing to process improvement or reporting enhancements.
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive and well‑organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Commercially aware, solutions‑focused, and confident in constructively challenging assumptions.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining financial information effectively.
