Financial Accountant

Location: London, Liverpool Street (Hybrid)

We are partnering with a well-established international organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant – Europe. This role requires a fluent German speaker as you will be directly supporting German entities, liaising with local stakeholders, payroll providers and tax authorities.

Based in London and reporting to the Financial Controller – Europe, you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations across Germany and Spain, with additional exposure to other European entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
• Preparation and review of bank reconciliations
• Coordination of German and Spanish payroll via external providers, including posting monthly journals
• Delivery of accurate and timely month-end reporting
• Preparation and review of German and Spanish VAT returns, liaising closely with external accountants and tax advisors
• Management of intercompany transactions, including loans and management fees
• Review and oversight of bookkeeping across European subsidiaries
• Support finance transformation initiatives and system improvements

Key Requirements

• Fluent German (spoken and written)
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
• Experience working in a multi-company, multi-currency environment
• Previous experience supporting German entities highly advantageous
• Confident using accounting systems; Priority ERP experience beneficial
• Relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA or similar) desirable but not essential
