Global Accounting Network is excited to be retained by this vibrant events company on the search for their new Finance Business Partner. The business provides high performance bar and event solutions to the world’s best consumer brands and entertainment/sports organisations. The role will suit a part- or newly qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant with project accounting and FP&A experience within the events/hospitality/venue space.
The Role
Finance
- Month‑end close for both venues
- Weekly performance reporting to directors
- Regular analysis of income, GP%, staffing costs
- Assist in preparing the annual budgets and reforecasts/rolling forecast
- Year‑end audit support
- Oversee weekly payment runs for the venues
- Assist the Finance team in any other ad hoc projects and events.
Events & Venues
- Producing ad‑hoc budgets and projections for the Directors
- Reconcile card and cash takings to accurately report and recognise revenue
- Owning the event budget from a Finance perspective and challenging any overspends
- Liaising with Operations and Management to ensure correct and timely client reporting
- Working with Project Managers to reconcile projects against budget, challenge overspend and report on variances
- Producing analysis & reports to identify trends to help onsite operations
- Client reporting coordination
- Develop detailed understanding of allocated venues/events, and drive continuous improvement in financial system, process and procedures
The Person
- Project accounting and restaurant/venue/events business experience
- Balance of proactive challenge and support
- Advanced Excel (vlookup, sumifs, pivot tables)
- Strong analytical and budgeting skills
- Comfortable with large data sets and complex spreadsheets
- Organised, detail‑oriented, and deadline‑driven
- Excellent communication and presentation
Preferred
- Deep understanding of restaurant, venues or retail operations
- Experience managing multiple revenue streams and cost centres
- Growth mindset for events and entertainment sector
- Experience with Paprika accounting system
