The Role
As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple entities while supporting month‑end, budgeting, forecasting and statutory reporting cycles. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, helping the business maintain strong financial governance and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accuracy of the trial balance, including revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed assets and journals
- Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) with variance analysis
- Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles in line with group requirements
- Produce monthly board packs and quarterly performance reports
- Manage intercompany reporting and support IFRS16 submissions
- Prepare statutory accounts across multiple legal entities
- Manage year-end audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support capex appraisals
- Oversee payroll postings and associated account reconciliations
- Provide financial insights to management around overheads and performance
- Support wider teams with costing and ad‑hoc financial analysis
- Line manage and mentor an Assistant Accountant
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
- Strong experience in statutory reporting, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment
- Detail‑driven, proactive and committed to delivering high‑quality work
Desirable but not essential
- Experience within a large organisation or facilities / construction sector
- Exposure to Microsoft Business Central
- Experience with tax returns and year‑end reporting
