We are delighted to be supporting a leading global professional services firm in their search for an Assistant Tax Director – EMEA. This is a high-impact role offering broad international exposure, working closely with senior leadership across multiple jurisdictions.

This position is ideal for an experienced tax professional looking to step into a strategic, commercially focused role with significant regional responsibility.

The Role

Reporting directly to the EMEA Tax Director, you will take ownership of tax matters across the EMEA region, covering a wide range of jurisdictions including the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. You will play a key role in driving tax compliance, supporting partners, and improving processes across a complex international structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee tax compliance across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions
  • Manage and maintain the regional tax calendar
  • Support partners with the tax implications of profit allocations, including guidance on personal tax matters and cashflow planning
  • Assist with international tax structuring, including new office openings and business changes
  • Lead improvements in tax processes and controls, leveraging technology to reduce risk and increase efficiency
  • Partner with external advisors and internal teams across finance, HR, and legal
  • Support transfer pricing, tax audits, and evolving regulatory requirements (including Pillar 2)
  • Provide oversight and guidance on VAT, GST, employment taxes, and cross-border mobility

About You

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and international tax
  • Proven experience in a tax leadership or managerial role within a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders
  • Experience managing tax compliance processes across multiple regions
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
  • Proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable working independently
  • Exposure to professional services or partnership structures
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g. Oracle, Elite or similar)
  • Knowledge of indirect and employment taxes across EMEA
