Finance Manager

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• ACA qualification through ICAEW or ICAS with 2-3 years post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations, and risk management
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
• Experience with Sage accounting software or a demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex financial data for varied audiences
• Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities
• Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders in a high-pressure environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment
• Manage cash flow, monitor expenses, and oversee monthly reporting and forecasting
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion
• Manage all team expenses, credit card processing, and software submissions
• Support financial deliverables for major events and UCI licensing requirements
• Review, test, and enhance financial control procedures and systems
• Drive process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy
• Foster collaborative relationships across the team to ensure financial clarity and strategic support

Additional Skills and Experiences:

• Prior experience in the elite sporting industry or a similarly fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with performance-focused stakeholder engagement
• Multilingual abilities relevant to international operations
• Experience working with expense management, travel, and billing software

Preferred Education and Experience:

• A relevant financial qualification (ACA preferred)
• Experience in financial systems implementation or upgrade
• Proven ability to operate effectively within an international, multi-cultural team
• Knowledge of the UK and EU working regulations and travel requirements
