We’re looking for a professional, client-facing Service Engineer to take ownership of our service and aftercare work across high-end AV residential projects. This role suits someone who is technically strong, organised, well presented, and comfortable dealing directly with clients in their homes.
About the role
- Diagnosing and resolving network, AV and smart home issues
- Managing service calls from booking through to completion
- Communicating clearly and professionally with clients by email, phone and on site
- Planning your own visits and managing your workload effectively
- Keeping accurate records of work carried out within our systems
- Identifying potential improvements or follow-on works where appropriate
You’ll be trusted to represent the company on site and expected to work to a high professional standard at all times.
Essential skills & experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an AV / Smart Home / Service Engineer
- Strong networking knowledge (this is essential)
- VLANs, switches, fault finding, structured troubleshooting
- Confident with UniFi (switches, gateways, access points) or quick to learn it.
- Lutron experience is essential (HomeWorks / RA / diagnostics and fault finding)
- Experience working with integrated systems
- Working on your own with strong fault-finding capability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Comfortable booking appointments and liaising directly with clients
- Well presented, professional, and client-facing
- Able to work independently and take responsibility
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with Savant
- You don’t need to be an expert, but you must be able to pick it up quickly
- Broader AV experience (audio distribution, control systems, racks)
- An understanding of upselling or identifying additional works
