GLM Joinery are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Joiner to join their experienced team.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn all aspects of joinery while working alongside skilled professionals in a busy workshop environment.

The company was originally formed in 1987, and is founded on many years of experience in supplying quality joinery products.

We have experience in providing joinery of the highest quality to: construction and leisure industries; private/limited companies and domestic customers.

With our fully‑fitted workshop and highly skilled staff we take great pride in our work from full refurbishments to providing items for ongoing maintenance/repair works.

What You’ll Do

You will receive full supervision and training throughout your apprenticeship, developing practical skills and industry knowledge across a wide range of bespoke joinery projects.

Our work is varied, fast‑paced, and often scheduled at short notice, making this an exciting role for someone who enjoys learning and taking on new challenges.

Typical items manufactured in our workshop include

  • Windows and doors
  • Garage doors
  • Shopfronts
  • Bespoke bars and back fittings
  • Stained, polished, and painted joinery products

As an Apprentice Joiner, you will assist with

  • Measuring materials and checking their suitability for projects
  • Sanding timber and preparing surfaces for finishing
  • Cutting wood to specification
  • Assembling and joining components together
  • Staining, priming, painting, and finishing joinery products
  • Using a range of hand and power tools safely under supervision
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Supporting the team in completing projects to agreed deadlines
  • Training Outcome

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you could progress from being a Trainee Joiner to a Full Bench Joiner.

There is also the possibility to progress to a Level 3 Craft Joinery Apprenticeship.
