GLL are currently recruiting trainee Swimming Teachers to join us in West Oxfordshire. If you have the skills and ambition to join us as a Swimming Teacher, there's never been a more exciting time to join us. This is more than just a Swimming Teacher job, it's a career.
All of our Swimming Teachers are qualified to STA Level 2 in Teaching Swimming. The STA qualifications are nationally recognised and will give you the skills to teach non-swimmers, beginners, and improvers. If you have a passion and talent for swimming, you could be part of our team of Swimming Teachers and help give people of all ages a valuable life skill. We are the largest Swimming School in the UK and our continued growth means we are looking to qualify and employ a growing number of Swimming Teachers. So, if you’d like the opportunity to gain the qualifications and training needed to teach people of all ages and abilities how to swim, apply to be a Trainee Swimming Teacher.
Successful applicants will be fully funded to complete their STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming. We have a range of hours available across weekdays and weekends.
What you need:
- A competent swimmer.
- A good communicator (verbal and non-verbal).
- A good motivator (supportive and able to give feedback).
- Approachable and patient in nature.
- Imaginative.
- Willing to learn and commit to a 5-day intensive training course.
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
Being a Swimming Teacher is really rewarding, as you’ll thrive on supporting people to achieve their potential. Naturally, there’ll be some administration involved, but rest assured that, once qualified, almost all of your time will be spent teaching, working with a range of ages and abilities. Once qualified, you will be a part of one of our Teaching Teams, working with a Lead Teacher to support you in your day-to-day role.

- This is a Full time / part time, permanent / Flexible position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service; flexible working may be possible, working from home is not possible in this role.
