GLL is currently recruiting a Duty Manager to join our centre at Botwell Green Sports & Leisure Centre in Hayes, Middlesex within the London Borough of Hillingdon. If you have the skills and ambition to join us as a Duty Manager, there has never been a more exciting time to join us.
This role is more than a simple desk job; it involves unlocking the leisure centre, setting up, ordering supplies, checking everything is perfect for customers, handling customer queries, managing your team, and ensuring the successful operation of the gym, pool and other facilities.
What You'll Do
- Maintain a positive image of the centre to customers and the public by providing a welcoming, helpful and professional service.
- Assist customers with the use of facilities and activities, encouraging maximum use of the centre.
- Prepare areas and equipment for sessions as appropriate.
- Control day‑to‑day operations and service of the centre, ensuring security, cleanliness, customer supervision and equipment checks.
- Ensure all pool safety and operating procedures are in place.
- Maintain good housekeeping systems and support management with improvement plans for energy conservation and resource maximisation.
- Supervise all staff on shift, allocate work efficiently and carry out any other duties as required.
- Supervise team effectively, operating people management procedures such as recruitment, absence reporting, qualification maintenance, appraisals, and discipline.
Qualifications & Skills
- Integrity, a can‑do attitude and customer‑service focus.
- Health and safety knowledge.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as NPLQ, First Aid, Fitness Instructor and Pool Plant, or equivalent.
- Ability to think quickly, remain calm under pressure and engage with people from all walks of life.
