GLL is looking for a SEND Nursery Practitioner to work at Sutton Sports Village. If you are enthusiastic, ambitious and want to make a difference, this job role could be for you. Working closely with the SEND lead, you need to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to education and can achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Learning: Assist in planning, delivering, and adapting learning to meet individual learning needs.
  • Individual Support: Provide one-to-one or small group assistance, helping children engage with room activities.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and record children development, reporting concerns or achievements to the SENDCo.
  • Classroom Inclusion: Promote an inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported.
  • Behaviour Support: Implement positive behaviour strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with SENDCo, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development.
  • Care Duties: Assist with personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and respect.

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive in supporting both pupils and staff.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with children with SEND (desirable but not always essential).
  • Relevant training in SEND strategies or interventions (e.g., autism awareness, speech and language support).
