GLL is seeking a Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner for our 'Better' Community Nursery at Burnt Oak Leisure Centre, Barnet. This full‑time role focuses on creating a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for children under 5.
Responsibilities
- Support and develop warm relationships with children and families so each child benefits from shared interest and knowledge of their progress.
- Support and value each child's home culture and language, and plan activities for children with English as an additional language to support language development.
- Contribute to the provision and sustainability of a stimulating, secure, caring and learning environment that promotes equal opportunities and diversity for children, parents, families and carers.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Child Development or equivalent.
- Experience working with children under five years of age.
- Experience planning and supporting play provision using evidence‑based approaches outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding issues and procedures.
- Understanding of Ofsted Children’s Centre requirements and frameworks.
- Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds, including provision for disabled children and those with special needs.
- Knowledge of current statutes, regulations, legislation, guidance and codes of practice affecting the delivery of holistic support for very young children and families.
- Good understanding of equality and diversity issues.
