GLL is looking for a Children’s Activity Instructor to work at Wimbledon Leisure Centre & Spa. If you have the skills and ambition to join us, there has never been a more exciting time to join us. This is more than a Children’s Activity Instructor job, it's a career.
As a Children’s Activity Instructor, you will be responsible for engaging and inspiring children through various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment while fostering their development.
What you’ll do:
- Comply with the commitments outlined in the ‘Customer Charter’, ensuring that standards are maintained as stipulated.
- Ensure that all compliance is followed.
- Follow the legal requirements in line with Ofsted legislation.
- Ensure you follow all relevant administration procedures.
- Ensure that every child is given equality of opportunity and they are all included and supported.
- Ensure care of over 8’s does not adversely affect the care of the under 8’s.
- Keep all areas and equipment checked and cleaned as per the cleaning matrix.
- Deal with, log, and report all safeguarding issues to the Children Activity Supervisor.
What you need:
- Good understanding of the characteristics and qualities that guardians expect from a childcare provision.
- Knowledge of Ofsted Legislation.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
- Knowledge of GLL Safeguarding Policies, Procedures, and Code of Conduct on Safer Working Practices.
- Suitable level of experience working with children under 8 or a relevant childcare/play work qualification.
- Experience of delivering an enabling environment whilst responding to children’s individual needs.
This is a Flexible position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service; flexible working may be possible. Working from home is not possible in this role.
