GLL is currently looking for a flexible Sailing and Windsurfing Instructor based at Debdale Outdoor Activity Centre, in Manchester. There's never been a more exciting time to join us. This is more than just a job, it's a career.
As a Sailing and Windsurfing Instructor, you will play a key role in developing our customers' skills and abilities. This is your chance to deliver safe, consistent lessons that give people real confidence on the water. As an experienced Sailing and Windsurfing Instructor, you’ll thrive on supporting people to achieve their potential. You will be able to draw on your knowledge of practices, progression, and teaching points and apply it in the most effective way.
We’re looking for Sailing and Windsurfing Instructors who are approachable, with the friendly, patient nature needed to build people’s trust, motivate people and encourage with praise.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver structured sailing lessons following RYA syllabus
- Supervise participants on and off the water
- Carry out safety briefings and dynamic risk assessments
- Operate safety boats where required
- Set up and pack down sailing/windsurfing equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment
- Provide clear feedback to help customers improve
- Handle customer queries in a professional way
- Support wider centre operations when needed
What you need:
- A can-do attitude
- Strong focus on customer service
- Clear communication and confidence leading groups
- Solid understanding of water safety and risk management
- Ability to work as part of a team
- RYA Dinghy Instructor Certification or Start Windsurfing Instructor Certificate
- Valid RYA First Aid certificate

This is a Flexible position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service; flexible working may be possible, but working from home is not possible in this role.
