Responsibilities

  • Develop customers’ swimming skills and deliver safe, consistent lessons to build confidence in the water.
  • Support pupils to achieve their potential, tailoring instruction to each individual’s nature and needs.
  • Apply knowledge of teaching practices, progression, and teaching points in an effective manner.
  • Manage routine administration while focusing the majority of time on teaching.
  • Maintain a good, positive image of the Centre by providing welcoming, helpful, and professional poolside service.
  • Comply with the commitments outlined in the Customer Charter to uphold required standards.
  • Ensure the safety and control of pupils during lessons and enforce all relevant centre regulations.
  • Encourage pupils to enrol in further and short courses.
  • Assist with new‑enrolments and re‑enrolments as required by the General Manager.
  • Understand and follow the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure and Behaviour policy contained within the Swim School product.
  • Record and complete relevant awards to meet expected standards.
  • Teach to the standard set within the product manual for a consistent approach across all centres.

Qualifications

  • Approachable, friendly, patient nature to build trust, motivate pupils, and encourage with praise.
  • STA Award or Certificate level, or Swim England Level 2 qualified (required).
  • Ideal: National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and other relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of Child Protection Policy.

Pay

Pay from £15.61 per hour up to £19.09 per hour, dependent on qualification.
