GLL is looking for a Library Manager to work at Coseley library, 18 hours per week. This is more than a Library Manager job; it's a career. Dudley libraries are looking for a Library Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the facility. Coseley is one of 13 libraries operated by GLL in Dudley and is situated in the heart of its community. Coseley is a busy library, giving access to a wide variety of collections and resources including books, periodicals, CD and DVD loans, and public computers/internet access.
This is an exciting time to join our team as a Library Manager as we improve and promote the library services for the people of Coseley, whether it's our valued existing users or widening the offering to a new group of customers.
What you'll do:
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the library.
- Lead on strategic direction to expand library usage.
- Oversee stock and undertake general administration including cash handling, safety and security of the building.
- Be hands-on with community activities such as Baby Rhyme Time.
- Build good relationships with local contacts and partnerships to enhance the service and ensure the library is an integral part of the community.
What you need:
- An enthusiastic and passionate manager with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent understanding of all library operations including budgetary control, stock development, people management, and building management within a public library.
- Excellent ICT knowledge and the ability to identify the needs of the community.
- Ability to instil excellent customer service standards in your team.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children is essential.
