GLL is recruiting trainee Swimming Teachers to join our teams at Teddington Pool and Pools on the Park in Richmond. All Swimming Teachers must hold at least an STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming, a nationally recognised qualification that equips you to teach non‑swimmers, beginners and improvers. If you have a passion for swimming and the talent to share it, you can help people of all ages acquire a valuable life skill. We are the largest swimming school in the UK and are growing, so we need more trainee teachers. Successful applicants will be fully funded to complete their STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming. We offer a range of hours across the week.
We are looking for applicants who are:
- A competent swimmer
- A good communicator (verbal and non‑verbal)
- A supportive motivator who can give constructive feedback
- Approachable and patient
- Imaginative and creative in teaching
- Willing to learn and commit to a 5‑day intensive training course
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
As a Swimming Teacher you will primarily teach, working with a range of ages and abilities. Some light administration will be required, but once qualified, most of your time will be spent in the pool. After qualification you will be part of a teaching team, working with a Lead Teacher who will support your day‑to‑day role.
