GLL is looking for a Children Activity Instructor to work at Horley Leisure Centre. That’s why at GLL, we run children's activities at our Better Leisure Centres throughout the UK. The activities run all year round and provide a safe, yet fun haven for children from 2+ years old. As well as being enjoyable for the children, they’re very convenient for working parents too.

Working as part of a team, you’ll create a structured, safe and fun environment using the facilities around you. You’ll be confident in leading children through a mix of arts & crafts and sporting activities, team games that can include (dependent on availability) anything from football, basketball, swimming (where possible). You’ll encourage an environment of respect and friendship amongst the children, especially as they can be from very diverse backgrounds. We also host children’s birthday parties which you’ll play a key role in assisting with.

What you’ll do:

  • To be responsible for structured activities for a group of children.
  • To ensure that birthday parties meet the expectations of the birthday child and their guests.
  • To encourage with appropriate use of praise.

What you need:

It will be beneficial to have knowledge of Ofsted and Health & Safety legislation as well as the qualities that parents and guardians expect from childcare provision. It goes without saying that you’ll be friendly and approachable as well as being imaginative, creative and a positive role model to the children that you supervise.
