GLL is looking for experienced Health Referral Coordinator in Hillingdon for our Xplore Child & Family Weight Management programme. Xplore is a healthy lifestyle programme aimed at children, young people and their families which combines a weekly nutritional workshop with group-based physical activity class. The programme is designed to support families giving them the right information and tools to adopt a healthier lifestyle and reduce the health risks associated with being overweight and obese.

As a Health Referral Coordinator, you will act as the main point of contact between referring agents, referral patients and the services facilitators. This is a ‘hands-on’ role for an ambitious results driven professional, a keen interest in working with children and their families, with the ability to coordinate several programmes across the leisure and sport facilities in our Hillingdon partnership.

You will need to have:

  • Experience of working with children, young people and adults in groups
  • Qualifications at/ or be working towards Level 3 (minimum) within a fitness/nutrition setting
  • Flexibility to work afternoons and evenings (3pm – 7pm), weekends and school holidays

It would be preferable (but not essential) to have:

  • First aid qualification
  • Own transport or be willing to travel around the Borough
  • Level 3 GP Referral qualification

While working on our Child & Family Weight Management programme there will be lots of opportunities to learn about the other areas in our Healthwise department. This service includes a Physical Activity on Referral Service (PARS) and a cardiac pathway which supports eligible adults to become more physically active and gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to maintain and improve their physical activity levels.

Other opportunities will include:

  • CPD within the exercise and fitness industry
  • Membership to CIMSPA
  • Motivational Interviewing qualification
