GLL is looking for a Fitness Manager based at Better Gym Walsall Wood. Better Gym Walsall Wood is located in Walsall and currently has an opening for an experienced fitness manager. Offering state-of-the-art equipment, a health suite, studio, and steam/sauna facilities.

Supporting the smooth running of a busy fitness centre, you’ll ensure the health, safety, and enjoyment of customers and colleagues alike.
Highly organized and a quick learner who is obsessed with delivering an exceptional customer experience. Previous experience in the boutique fitness market is highly desirable, and strong written and verbal communication skills are vital for building relationships with customers, colleagues, and contractors.
You should have a minimum of a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification – or be willing to work towards this within your first 2 months – as you will be required to teach classes offered at the centre.
Fitness managers are quick thinkers, calm under pressure, responsible, and naturally good with people from all walks of life; this is your chance to progress as a fitness manager.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain a positive image of the centre to customers and the public by providing a welcoming, helpful, and professional service.
- Assist customers with the use of facilities and activities, encouraging maximum use of the centre.
- Prepare areas and equipment for sessions as appropriate.
- Ensure the efficient and effective control of daily operations and services, maintaining security, cleanliness, customer supervision, and equipment checks.
- Maintain good housekeeping systems and assist management in energy conservation and resource maximization.
- Supervise all staff on shift, effectively allocating work and performing duties as required.
- Ensure all team members are effectively supervised and that people management procedures (recruitment, absence reporting, qualifications, appraisals, discipline) are properly operated.
