GLL is looking for a Facilities Assistant to work flexible hours across libraries in Dudley borough supporting the facilities team in ensuring the maintenance, repair and safety of our buildings is completed to a high standard.

As a Facilities Assistant, you’ll work as part of a team as well as on your own and have a good eye for detail. With an understanding of health and safety regulations, you’ll ensure the safety and convenience of staff and customers by implementing repairs when necessary with minimal disruption. You will also provide occasional cover for the library van service.

You’ll need to have previous maintenance or construction industry experience as well as a full UK driving licence. Technical qualifications such as building, plumbing, carpentry and/or decorating etc. would be desirable. Good communication skills and written literacy are a must in this role as it requires a pro-active approach and good problem-solving skills.
