GLL is looking for Bar Assistants to work at The Sands Centre. We are looking to expand our team of hardworking casual Bar Assistants, working from The Sands Centre in Carlisle. You'll be enthusiastic and hard-working with a real attention to detail as you'll assist the Catering supervisor with the operation of our busy Bars and Catering points within the venue before, during and after our Shows & Events.

The Sands Centre is an extremely busy entertainment venue, with high footfall, so you'll need to thrive in this setting and be able to deliver excellent customer service during busy periods, helping to prepare and serve our customers.

Ideally, you'll have experience of working in a busy working bar environment with good customer care skills and knowledge of licensing laws. If you don't yet have it, we'll provide full training.

What you'll do:

  • Serve customers and prepare drinks and snacks at one of our busy Bars within the venue.
  • Ensure exceptional standards are maintained and that you remain compliant with legislation and venue policy including Challenge 25.
  • Work towards the common goal of providing arts and culture as an enrichment activity to customers, improving their mental health and well-being.
  • Undertake any other duties as deemed and directed by the Catering Manager and/or Catering Supervisor.
