An Information Controller will work with multiple contacts to gather and collate information, sift through and quality check in order to produce excellent handover information. A keen eye for detail is very important with the ability to communicate well.

Key Responsibilities
  • Using in‑house software to manage information provided by subcontractors and clients to ensure timely project handover
  • Ensure all incoming information is recorded as received and dealt with promptly
  • Extract information from external sources to complete equipment schedules
  • Ensure that personal system tasks are actioned on time in full and third‑party actions are closed on completion
  • Review and approve as‑built literature/information provided by third parties
  • Action non‑technical comments on manuals
  • Address any project creep and control where possible, escalating to the Project Manager if needed
  • Maintain project management tools to ensure the information is relevant, correct and up to date
  • Maintain proficiency in all relevant ICT (Information & Communications Technology)
  • Provide feedback on system/process improvements to appropriate internal teams to ensure continuous improvement
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills
  • Fulfil roles required within the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) or Task Information Delivery Plan (TIPD)
  • Help train new team members as required
  • Attend online client meetings with the Project Manager to provide updates on subcontractor performance and general project status reporting
  • Take telephone calls from clients and subcontractors
Key Qualifications & Skill Requirements
  • Construction background, ideally with a firm understanding of M&E
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate both internally and with clients
  • Attention to detail; quality checking is a large part of the role
  • Understanding of data management
  • Ability to organise information logically
  • Work independently and prioritise workload
  • Quality background

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Working hours: Full time (40 hours per week Monday‑Friday)

Location: Hybrid contract with 1‑2 days in the Chelmsford office

Annual leave: 25 days’ annual leave (plus UK bank holidays)

This role may require some form of Security Clearance (SC) depending on the client or project. To meet the eligibility criteria for SC, candidates must have been resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years. If clearance is required, Glider will support the successful candidate through the vetting process.
