We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. As part of our vibrant and growing veterinary practice, you will provide exceptional veterinary care to animals while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners.
Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Working Hours: We have a varied caseload, and the role includes general nursing duties, anaesthesia, radiology, ultrasonography, and hospital inpatient care as we are a 24-hour emergency care provider. The role is a 30-hour week over 4 days with 6‑8 hour shifts, 1 in 5 weekends Saturday and Sunday with TOIL for weekends worked. There is no out‑of‑hours work as we have a dedicated night team who cover this. Bank holidays are on a rota basis.
Salary: Up to £33,000 FTE
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine examinations, diagnostics, and treatments on a variety of animals.
- Conduct surgical procedures as needed, including spaying, neutering, and other minor surgeries.
- Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Provide guidance and advice to pet owners on general care, feeding, and wellness.
- Maintain accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and progress.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Veterinary degree from a recognised institution.
- Valid veterinary licence to practice in the UK.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Compassionate and caring approach to animals.
