We have an exciting opportunity for a Head Nurse at our busy, well-established hospital located in the beautiful North Downs and The Surrey Hills area. Our practice has a long history of providing exceptional patient and client care to our local community. We are currently seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us in our journey!
About the practice
Our fantastic nursing and support team includes qualified nurses, student nurses, and a dedicated receptionist. We are proud to be feline friendly, having been awarded the Gold Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic Award from the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM). To support this, our practice features:
- Separate cat and dog waiting rooms
- Dedicated cat and dog wards
- Separate consult rooms and isolation areas
The team is led by two partners:
- The first partner has a certificate in Small Animal Surgery with expertise in all aspects of surgery including soft tissue and orthopaedics, radiography, analgesia, and rehabilitation following musculoskeletal disorders.
- The second partner is currently working towards a certificate in Internal Medicine and has many years of experience with interests in medicine, ultrasonography, and endoscopy.
Our practice is equipped with:
- A dental suite with dental x-ray
- Full in-house lab with Idexx analysers
- Endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment
- Rhinoscopy
- Digital x-ray and ultrasound
In the role you will:
- Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients
- Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activities
- Lead, manage, and promote nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries
- Deliver patient monitoring and care
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team
- Dispense and check medication
- Implement and comply with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards
- Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes
- Engage, coach, and develop your team
