We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Locum Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to join our team in Slough, Berkshire. This ongoing position offers a structured Monday to Friday schedule with no weekend work required. The ideal candidate will assist the veterinary team in providing high-quality care to animals and ensure the smooth daily operations of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses with handling and restraint of animals during examinations and procedures.
  • Provide care to hospitalized animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, including cleaning kennels, surgical rooms, and common areas.
  • Prepare clinical areas and equipment for consultations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Assist in client communication, offering advice on basic pet care when needed.
  • Support reception duties such as greeting clients, answering phones, and scheduling appointments when required.
