Role Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and adaptable Locum Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our team in NW London for a 6-month period. This position offers an immediate start and involves covering some duties typically assigned to a Head Nurse. The role requires flexibility in shift patterns, with no weekend or out-of-hours work, providing a balanced approach to professional commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine nursing duties as well as take on responsibilities usually handled by the Head Nurse, including staff supervision and clinic management tasks.
  • Assist with surgeries, provide patient care, and conduct post-operative checks, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing education and support on pet health care and post-treatment care.
  • Support the veterinary team in ensuring the smooth running of the practice.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with current registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Proven experience in veterinary nursing, with additional skills in leadership or management highly regarded.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of managing a team and clinic operations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, adapting to early, middle, and late schedules.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
