We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Twilight Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our team in Kent. This exciting role offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to be part of a state-of-the-art facility with cutting-edge technology and equipment. You will be working alongside a supportive and collaborative team, providing exceptional care for a variety of cases, including emergency and critical care during twilight hours.
Location: Kent
Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Job Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Either 3 x 12-hour shifts or 4 x 10-hour shifts (between 12 pm and 2 am)
Weekend Commitment: 1:5 weekends (TOIL for weekends worked)
On-Call Rota: 1:10 on-call
Bank Holidays: 2 bank holidays worked per year
As a Twilight Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of care for patients during the evening and night-time hours, working in an innovative and fast-paced environment. This position is perfect for an experienced nurse looking for a different shift pattern and a more focused, specialised role in emergency and after-hours care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality veterinary nursing care during twilight and late-night hours.
- Assist veterinarians with emergency and critical care cases, including monitoring anaesthesia, patient recovery, and post-operative care.
- Ensure the comfort, safety and wellbeing of in-patients, monitoring them throughout the night and providing treatments as needed.
- Manage patient admissions and discharges during twilight hours, ensuring clear communication with pet owners and the day team.
- Support the clinical team with diagnostics and treatment plans using top-of-the-range equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and hand-overs to ensure continuity of care.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the practice, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met during night operations.
- Participate in a 1:5 weekend rota with time off in lieu for weekend work.
- Share responsibility in the 1:10 on-call rota and work 2 bank holidays per year.
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience in emergency, critical care, or twilight nursing is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively during twilight and night-time hours, providing exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and coordinate with the daytime team.
- A collaborative team player with a compassionate approach to both patients and clients.
- Commitment to professional development, with an interest in further CPD and career progression.
