Glevum is entering a major growth phase across multiple sites, and we’re recruiting a Technical Operations Director to take full ownership of how our security technology operates — not just the policy, but the delivery.

This is a group-wide leadership role with accountability for every monitored connection, every CCTV deployment, and the operational performance of our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).

You’ll sit on the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO, and act as the bridge between strategic decision-making and real-time operational control.

If you’re the kind of leader who knows why a camera in Sussex isn’t reporting to the ARC at 3am — and how to build a system where that problem doesn’t happen again — this role is for you.

The Opportunity

You will build and run the technical operations function for the entire Glevum Group.

Early priorities include establishing group-wide technical governance, strengthening ARC performance, and driving our journey toward ISO and NSI Gold certification.

This role is not hands-on engineering — it is leadership, standards, governance, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities Technical Operations

  • Full ownership of technical operations across all sites and installations
  • Ensure all CCTV (fixed, temporary, deployable) is correctly configured and monitored
  • Lead technical fault escalation, incident response, and post-incident review
  • Own the group’s technology roadmap and future platform strategy
  • Set and enforce ARC performance standards (response times, accuracy, false alarm rates)
  • Own the 24/7 escalation structure and operational authority levels
  • Work with the ARC Manager on staffing, shift design, and coverage
  • Ensure continuous NSI Gold compliance
  • Compliance & Certification
  • Lead the group’s ISO 9001 programme and scope additional certifications
  • Maintain NSI Gold Monitoring standards year-round
  • Build a compliance framework that is operational, not project-based
  • People & Competency
  • Oversee technical and ARC staffing structures
  • Set competency standards for technical and monitoring teams
  • Own training and development pathways
  • Manage relationships with technology suppliers and monitoring platform partners
  • Set technical standards for subcontractors
  • Review and approve new technology partnerships
  • Budget & Reporting
  • Own the technical operations budget
  • Report technical performance, incident trends, and compliance status to the CEO and SLT
  • Build and maintain KPIs for technical operations
  • Health & Safety
  • Ensure all technical work meets H&S standards
  • Own risk assessments for field technical activity
  • What ‘Good’ Looks Like in Year One
  • ARC operating at NSI Gold standard with a clean audit trail
  • One unified technical standard across all sites
  • ISO certification underway with a credible timeline
  • A reliable escalation structure that works without CEO intervention
  • Clear visibility of technical performance across the group

About You Essential

  • Proven leadership in technical operations within security, monitoring, or fire & security
  • Direct ARC experience (NSI Gold preferred)
  • Experience managing multi-site technical teams
  • Strong working knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and monitoring platforms
  • Experience with ISO and NSI certification processes
  • Comfortable operating at SLT level
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
  • MSy I or equivalent industry credential
  • Experience integrating acquired businesses into group technical structures
  • Background in military, emergency services, or regulated environments
  • Budget ownership experience
  • What This Role Is Not
  • Not a hands-on engineering or installation role
  • Not sales-facing (though technical input may be required for major bids)
  • Not a substitute for site management — this role sets the standard, not the site agenda
  • Company car
  • Private medical insurance
  • Work Location: Hybrid remote in Gloucester GL2 2AQ
  • #J-18808-Ljbffr
